Map of France and Algeria

Map of France and Algeria

Forty years after Algerian independence, France and Algeria remain deeply marked by the legacy of the colonial period and the trauma of decolonization. How far have they succeeded in moving beyond the bitter memories of the war of independence? To what extent are they turning towards other political, economic or cultural partners? These are among the issues explored in this inter-disciplinary conference.
