The Winthrop-King Institute offers a variety of options to financially support faculty and students through scholarships, fellowships and travel awards. Explore the funding opportunities below.

Faculty Travel Awards support the efforts of Florida State University’s Modern Languages and Linguistics’ faculty involved in active research as they participate in conferences. 

Graduate Conference Travel Awards enable current graduate students majoring in East Asian languages, French, German, Italian, Slavic and Spanish with an active assistantship in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics to present papers at national, regional, or international conferences, or to attend the Modern Language Association for job interviews.

Graduate Research Travel Awards support summer research travel by masters and Ph.D. students majoring in East Asian languages, French, German, Italian, Slavic and Spanish with an active assistantship in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics.

Summer Doctoral Fellowships allow Ph.D. students in the French doctoral program with regular teaching assistant appointments the opportunity to dedicate their summer to research. 

Undergraduate Scholarships support a wide range of students in the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics.
