CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ~ FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY / UNIVERSITÉ DES ANTILLES EXCHANGE PROGRAM.

The purpose of the Winthrop-King Scholarship For The Martinique Exchange Program is to provide an opportunity to Language students at Florida State University to travel & study Languages & Cultures at an institution recommended & approved by the University & Language program professor.

Université Des Antilles, the only French University of the Caribbean & Americas area, is a multidisciplinary establishment which welcomes every year around 11,000 students. Its 5 campuses are located on two islands: Guadeloupe &  Martinique. Florida State University is partnered with the Martinique campus. In 2010 ~ 2011, at the beginning of the school year ( in September ), the U.A. counted 11,140 students distributed on two French territories of Americas: the Archipelago of Guadeloupe ( 6,145 students ), and the Island of Martinique ( 4,995 students ). One of the priorities of the Université Des Antilles is to participate in the regional development by means of exchange programs & cultural cooperation with a large range of foreign universities including American Universities. Our partner for this exchange program is the campus in Martinique. Martinique is located in the Caribbean region & is a French overseas territory. It is home to many French scholars including Aimé Césaire & Frantz Fanon.
